Sustainability in Industrial Real Estate

Sustainability at Link Logistics starts with a simple premise: When we invest in smarter, more efficient buildings and operations, our customers benefit directly. Lower energy costs, more reliable power and better-performing industrial space are the outcomes that guide our sustainability program. Across energy management, building efficiency, renewable energy and community investment, we take a practical, value-oriented approach that creates measurable results for our customers, our industrial real estate portfolio and the communities where we operate.

Energy Management and Efficiency

Our Energy & Utilities, Building Solutions and Energy Data & Analytics teams work together to deliver one of the most comprehensive energy programs in industrial real estate. Through Energy Solutions—our proprietary energy and utility management program—we help warehouse and distribution center customers reduce usage, stabilize power costs and navigate an increasingly complex energy landscape. We have also deployed LED or high-efficiency lighting across hundreds of millions of square feet of warehouse space, and our power hedging program helps customers achieve cost avoidance across dozens of retail power markets. Link Logistics is the first industrial real estate company to earn the ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year recognition for three consecutive years.

Sustainable Development for Long-Term Performance

Sustainability is built into every Link Logistics warehouse and industrial property development. We design all new developments to LEED-certification standards, and our solar program spans a growing number of clean power projects across our industrial real estate portfolio. We are also piloting smart stormwater management systems in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, improving water quality and reducing environmental impact at the property level. These investments make our last-mile warehouses and distribution facilities more efficient, more resilient and more valuable for the businesses that occupy them and the communities where they operate.

Investing in Our Communities

Our sustainability commitment extends beyond the warehouse and industrial properties we own and operate. Through community grants, employee volunteerism and partnerships with organizations like CoreGiving—co-founded by Link Logistics CEO Luke Petherbridge—we invest in the neighborhoods where our industrial real estate portfolio is concentrated. In 2024, Link Logistics employees contributed more than 14,000 volunteer hours, and our Community Grants Program has distributed more than $8 million to dozens of projects across North America.
