Warehouse Leasing in Northern California: Solving a ‘Giant Optimization Problem’

Link Logistics' Asset Management team oversees its national portfolio of warehouse and distribution centers across the U.S.

Sacramento-based leasing associate Anjali Khalasi brings discipline and expertise to Link Logistics’ Asset Management team. Read on to learn how she helps optimize warehouse and distribution center leasing across our logistics real estate portfolio in Northern California—and how she recharges outside the office.

How long have you worked at Link Logistics and what’s your role in industrial real estate?

Anjali: October 25 marked four years at Link Logistics. As a leasing associate specializing in warehouse and distribution centers, I support our market officers and local team with day-to-day leasing responsibilities across our Northern California portfolio of industrial properties.

What do you enjoy most about working in warehouse and logistics real estate?

Anjali: Every day there’s something new to look forward to—something I might not have seen before. After four years at Link Logistics, I’ve gained confidence handling anything that comes my way. I always say asset management is essentially a giant optimization problem with a bunch of variables, and every day I’m solving them to drive value.

What makes Sacramento such a great place to live and work?

Anjali: Sacramento is a beautiful place. We get California’s amazing weather, and we’re a short drive from anywhere you’d want to go—Tahoe, the Bay Area and so many national parks are all within driving distance. The local culture is vibrant and full of pride, especially when it comes to our hometown basketball team, the Sacramento Kings. The community here rallies behind them, and you can feel the energy and love for the city everywhere you go.

How do you like to spend your free time?

Anjali: Family time is essential. I come from a big family and enjoy spending time with them after work and on weekends. Getting involved in CrossFit has also been transformative for my well-being. I am a part of the 5 a.m. club! I started two years ago, and it’s taught me discipline and mental toughness that translates into my work in logistics real estate management. My mom and I also prepare nutritious meals every week to keep me energized.

As we approach the end of the year, what are you looking forward to?

Anjali: I absolutely love the holiday season—it’s a time that brings so much joy, reflection and connection. My family celebrated Diwali earlier this year, which is one of the most significant festivals for Indians and Hindus around the world. It’s a celebration of light, goodness and new beginnings. We fill our home with candles, gather with loved ones and cook delicious food from recipes that have been passed down through the generations. As someone who’s deeply family-oriented, these traditions mean the world to me. And with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, I’m looking forward to winding down after a busy year, recharging and spending meaningful time with the people I love most.

Before we go, is there anything else you'd like to highlight?

Anjali: I’d like to give a shout-out to my amazing team: Bryan McKrell, Graeme Coyle, Ryan Fitzgibbon, Reagan Forsythe, Kevin Lazzini and Zach Schmidt. I’m grateful to learn from and support such a talented group of commercial real estate professionals every day.

I also deeply admire our fitness-motivated senior leaders: Bud Pharris, Matt Chapman, Nick Pell and Sonya Huffman. Their discipline and drive, both in exercising and at work, are incredibly motivating. Their example is why I’ve built a strong 5–9 routine before my 9–5 in industrial real estate leasing.
