Link Logistics Experts Share Sustainability Insights at FreightWaves Net-Zero Carbon Summit

New York – October 10, 2023 – Link Logistics leaders on the company’s Sustainability team participated in the 2023 FreightWaves Net-Zero Carbon Summit, sharing insights into the firm’s data-focused and value-oriented approach to sustainability. The high-profile streaming event hosts supply chain experts to discuss decarbonization strategies for the logistics sector.

Sam Stockdale, Link Logistics senior vice president, head of Sustainability, joined Mary O’Connell, a freight broker and third-party logistics expert at FreightWaves, for a fireside chat called “Sustainable Horizons: Building the Future of Industry.” Stockdale detailed how the company leverages proprietary data insights, green leasing and scalable programs to drive positive environmental and business outcomes.

“For Link Logistics, it starts with the data,” Stockdale said. “When you consider our immense scale—535 million-plus square feet and thousands of operating assets—we have a significant opportunity to harness this data. Our long-term sustainability strategy can be summed up as: measure, reduce and offset.”

The summit’s “What the Truck?!?” podcast featured Tyler Deaton, Link Logistics vice president, head of Building Solutions. He and host Timothy Dooner discussed how measurement and data will drive customer-focused, sustainable solutions.

“We’ve essentially completed about 200 million square feet of LED retrofits over the past two years,” Deaton said. “Approximately 40 percent of our existing portfolio has been retrofitted as spaces turn over and LED lighting becomes the standard across the industry. We have targeted another 30 million square feet this year and our goal is to ramp up significantly over the next year.”
