Introducing Our Four Small Business Challenge Finalists!
More than 150 Link Logistics and Link Parks customers applied for our second annual Small Business Challenge—and our judges have selected four standout finalists who will deliver pitches at our live event in October for a chance to win the competition’s $75,000 grand prize. Read on to meet our finalists and learn about their businesses.
Kimberly Timmons Interiors (Denver, CO)
Kimberly Timmons Interiors is an award-winning interior design firm that partners with homeowners, builders, developers, hotel brands and multifamily communities to create curated environments.
“We believe great design begins with storytelling,” says Kimberly Timmons-Beutner, principal. “Every project is rooted in understanding the people, brand and experience behind the space. We guide projects from concept through installation while balancing creativity, functionality and long-term value.”
Mayamex Foods LLC (Suwanee, GA)
Mayamex Foods LLC is a Hispanic-owned wholesale food distribution company specializing in authentic snacks, candies, chocolates and grocery products imported from Mexico and Central America.
“What sets Mayamex Foods apart is our deep understanding of the Hispanic market, our reliable distribution network and our commitment to building lasting relationships with both suppliers and customers,” says founder Jaime Bastidas. “We are more than a distributor—we are a trusted partner that helps local businesses grow while making culturally familiar products accessible to families across the Southeast.”
Pushing Boundaries (Redmond, WA)
Pushing Boundaries is a nonprofit exercise therapy clinic specializing in treatment for people living with neurological diseases, injuries or illnesses. They have a robust collection of cutting-edge robotics and technology to help their clients maximize their recovery and gain strength.
“We were founded in 2005 by Sharon and Allan Northrup after they were involved in a roll-over accident that left Allan with a spinal cord injury,” says Amanda Koppes, interim executive director. “Unable to find the type of continuing therapy in the Seattle area that he needed to continue his recovery, they realized there was a need for specialized care, and Pushing Boundaries was born. We are now serving a record number of clients each week, and those numbers continue to go up!”
Storm Creek (Eagan, MN)
TK Trading Company, doing business as Storm Creek, is a women-owned, Certified B Corporation® that creates versatile athleisure apparel and outerwear. Their Bottle to Better initiative has recycled millions of plastic bottles into soft, durable fabrics with a focus on sustainability.
“When we started converting our full line to sustainably sourced materials in 2016, customers pushed back, telling us their buyers ‘weren't into that,’” says majority owner and CEO Teresa Fudenberg. “We doubled down instead—and demand for sustainable apparel has since grown tenfold.”
