Senior property manager Kate Chamizo brings a customer-first mindset to Link Logistics’ Property Management team. Read on to learn how she manages warehouses and distribution centers across our Tampa industrial real estate portfolio.
Can you describe your role at Link Logistics and what inspired you to choose a career in industrial real estate?
Kate: As a senior industrial property manager in Tampa, my priority is ensuring Link Logistics customers have an excellent experience in our buildings. I also ensure those buildings receive the care and attention they deserve.
Before transitioning to a career in real estate, I ran my own photography business and worked with a modeling agency. My family encouraged me to move into a career in leasing, and I spent roughly 13 years in multifamily real estate before transitioning to industrial real estate when I joined Link Logistics four years ago. The white-glove customer service approach I developed in residential leasing, where we treat each client’s home as the most important thing in the world, translates directly to how I treat our customers’ industrial spaces today.
What makes Tampa such a great location for warehouse and distribution operations?
Kate: The Tampa market is emerging as a strong choice among major logistics hubs, and our customers benefit from access to the Port of Tampa and major roadways such as I-4. One of our properties, Tampa Distribution Center, also offers live rail access which is a rare and valuable amenity.
Proximity to key infrastructure gives our customers the flexibility to move product by boat, rail or truck, whether they’re specialty operators or large-scale distribution and packaging companies.
How do you collaborate with other Link Logistics teams in your property management role?
Kate: Our local Asset Management team and I recently worked together to secure a lease for a large available space with a customer that had a specific storage commodity requirement. I also coordinated with our Regional Construction team to gather information needed to finalize the deal. Through close collaboration between Property Management, Regional Construction and Asset Management, we were able to provide the customer with timely answers, execute the lease and ensure a smooth move-in.
What do you value most about working at Link Logistics?
Kate: Link Logistics’ customer-first mindset is something I really appreciate. We focus on investing in customer relationships—not just managing our buildings—and we take a proactive rather than reactive approach. I also value that Link Logistics treats employees with care and respect, something I have felt personally as a new mother balancing work and family.
How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
Kate: Outside of work, I dedicate a lot of my free time to my family. I also enjoy thrifting and photography, a continuation of my earlier career behind the camera.
